Fresh off spring training camp. Team New York Aquatics, New York City’s LGBTQ+ swim team hosted their biannual Aquapalooza Swim Meet. Every year the meet brings out swimmers from all over the east coast and country for a fun weekend of swimming, partying and classic New York life! With the pre party hosted at Boxer’s Hell’s Kitchen and the “Aquapalooza Plunge” party hosted at Therapy with a life DJ spinning up the tunes. TNYA is well on their way to getting ready for the aquatics competitions at this year’s Gay Games in Paris and also for hosting the 2019 International Gay and Lesbian Aquatics Championships which will be part of the 50th Anniversary celebrations of the Stonewall Riots.

TNYA was founded in 1990 to help swimmers train for Gay Games III in Vancouver and has since grown to welcome athletes in all aquatic sports. Including Swimming, Diving, Synchronized Swimming and Water Polo. Most Gay Games athletes will recognize TNYA and their famous orange and blue caps and TNYA regularly participates in the famous Pink Flamingo event which is a feature at every IGLA championship.
