Southern Shootout 2018

Batter up! Spring is in the air and that means softball season is starting to get underway. Join the New South Softball League THIS WEEKEND (March 31st, April 1st) for the 36th Annual Southern Shootout. This yearly tournament brings out 50+ teams to Birmingham, Alabama for an awesome weekend of softball and partying.

The New South Softball League began in 1982 to provide “a fun and positive environment of competition and camaraderie for players in central Alabama. Since the organization of the league, we have provided a fun exciting outlet for the sports enthusiasts in Birmingham.”

With a full schedule of games followed by awesome evenings at many local LGBTQ+ bars and clubs around Birmingham, everything located within 5 minutes of the host hotel. The Southern Shootout promises to be a weekend of fun, friends and softball. It’s a perfect way to start your season leading up to the Gay Games and of course the Gay Softball World Series happening this September in Tampa, FL.
