Phoenix Selected to Host 2014 Compete Sports Diversity Awards-West Coast

September 19, 2014—Phoenix, home to major franchises in basketball, baseball, football and hockey has been chosen to host the 2014 Compete Sports Diversity Awards.   The November 15th event will be hosted by Olympian Blake Skjellerup and Compete publisher Eric Carlyle.

“Phoenix was selected because of the popularity of professional sports, college sports and because of the strength of its LGBT sports organizations” said Carlyle.

The evening will celebrate Compete’s fourth annual event as it honors individuals and organizations that help fulfill the publication’s mission of uniting the world through sports. 
A complete list of honorees will be announced September 29.

Event partners include US Bank, Orbitz, Jones Communications and Health Markets. More event partners to be announced soon.

The event will be held at the DoubleTree by Hilton on November 15, 2014. VIP welcome reception begins at 5:30 with seating at 7 PM.
