Following the conclusion and preliminary results of Europe’s largest research project studying LGBTQI discrimination in sport. The Out-Sport EU project has announced that their conference, “The Relevance of Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity in Sport – Outcomes of the first EU-wide survey on LGBTI people in sport,” is set to take place on November 8th, 2019 in Budapest, Hungary.
The conference will present the findings an analysis of the first EU wide survey on the direct experiences of LGBT people in sports as well as introduce a second stage of research. The second stage will include the specific results of the various project countries along with the qualitative results of the study.
In addition, the conference will include workshops on non-formal education through sport to promote diversity, inclusion and acceptance of LGBTQI people in sports. It will conclude with a roundtable discussion with researchers and participants regarding future activities, partnerships and other projects.
