The Gay Games are kicking off this weekend in Paris! For all the athletes, volunteers and athletic supporters who are attending, here are some basics to remember!

  • Check in/ Accreditation
    • la Cité de la Mode et du Design
      • July 31st to August 2nd Accreditation is open at 12pm
      • August 3rd-5th Accreditation is open at 10am
    • Village on the Parvis de l’Hôtel de Ville
      • August 6th-10th Accreditation is open at 10am
      • In order to be accredited, the participants must present an identity document and the e-badge that will be sent to them by email beforehand. We will give you your welcome pack as well as your participant medal, your transport pass (for non-residents of Paris Region participants), many goodies and, of course, the accreditation badge, needed for attending events and ceremonies.
  • Opening Ceremonies
    • Saturday, August 4th at Stade Jean Boui
    • Arrive at 4PM to organize entrance into the stadium by Country. You will be directed to where you need to go.
    • Security; for security reasons, no selfie sticks or flagpoles are allowed at the Opening Ceremony. All Flags must be hand-held (without flagpoles). The maximum size for flags is: 4 meters wide by 1.5 meters high – 13 by 5 Feet wide
      • No knapsacks or bags are allowed, other than the official Paris 2018 welcome bag that will be distributed at accreditation. The bag is about 10 by 16 inches.
      • Camera Bags will be inspected and permitted. However, large telephoto lens will NOT be permitted.
    • Opening Party Immediately Following
  •  Festival Village
    • Open every day 10am-6pm August 3rd-10th at Hôtel De Ville
    • A village is a fundamental to the success of an event like the Gay Games. Showcase event, a place open to all, it is intended for participants but also to other audiences as the Parisians, partners, people visiting Paris and Paris 2018 volunteers.
  •  Closing Ceremonies
    • Saturday, August 11th Late Afternoon/Early Evening at City Hall Plazza of Paris. 
    • It is included in Participant and Supporters package and is not open to the public.
    • Participants and supporters will be expected in the centre of Paris around 5:00 PM At 6:00 PM, they will enter the Village, redesigned for the occasion. The closing ceremony will begin at 7:00 PM. The Village closes at 9:00 PM to give everyone time to prepare for the closing party.
    • During closing ceremony, all participants and spectators will gather with old and new friends to celebrate the memories made, the personal-best victories and get energized about the 40th anniversary of Gay Games in Hong Kong 2022!
    • There will be a big show proposed by Parisians from sport and culture organizations, as they traditionally do every year at Paris International Tournament.
    • Closing Party Immediately Following
