We are throwing it back to October 17, 2014 when Arizona become issuing same-sex marriage licenses.
Congratulations to all Arizonans today. Earlier this morning, United States District Judge John Sedwick concluded that Arizona’s ban on gay marriage was too similar to Nevada’s, whose ban was also overturned recently. This similarity results in a condition of futility for any challenges against the lifting of the ban, making them moot points.
The first certificates of marriage have already been handed out, and will continue throughout the day until courts close. Expect a late night, court clerks!
