NFL tried to influence concussion research

In another black eye for the NFL, an investigative report by Congressman Frank Pallone Jr. concluded that the league tried to influence the CTE research it had pledged to support as part of its $30 million grant to the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

A December report by ESPN’s “Outside the Lines” included names and also suggested a motive of trying to hinder Robert Stern, Boston University Chronic Traumatic Encephalopath (CTE) expert who had testified on behalf of plaintiffs in the class action concussion settlement against the league that could reach $1 billion.
